I chose to pursue a career in health care because I’m passionate about helping others and about making a difference in people’s lives. I also enjoy the science of health care. Being a nurse practitioner specializing in geriatric medicine is just the right combination of problem solving and human connection.
My approach to care is patient-centered. I aim to always honor my patient’s wishes while providing education to assist them with informed decision-making. I enjoy being able to support patients during both difficult and joyful times, and I feel privileged to be able to improve their quality of life and contribute to their overall well-being.
Some of the most frequent questions I get are about medications — “What are the benefits?” “What are the risks?” “Are there potential side effects?” “How do I take this correctly?” — and I enjoy taking the time to explain all these details. One of my goals in my interactions with patients is to respond in a positive, helpful way to their concerns, and assist them in feeling confident to manage their own treatment.
