About the Provider

Abdullah Omari, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, fellowship-trained in adult reconstruction. He specializes in surgical and non-surgical care of injuries, including arthritic and inflammatory conditions of the lower limb. He commonly performs arthroscopy, hip and knee arthroplasty with the use of robotic-assisted techniques, hip resurfacing, and fracture fixation. All while keeping the patient included in the decision making process and catering to their goals and preferences.Dr. Omari obtained his medical degree from The University of Baghdad Medical School and completed his orthopedic residency training in the Southwest region of the United Kingdom during which he spent a year in Baltimore, Maryland as an adult reconstruction fellow. He worked as an attending in the United Kingdom until he was recruited by Wayne State University's Orthopedic Program based at Taylor Michigan, which has since merged with the Royal Oak Orthopedic residency program. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Omari is heavily involved with the orthopedic residency program and research, with interest in technology and joint replacement. He obtained his American board of Orthopedic surgery certification in 2014. In his spare time he enjoys traveling and playing sports, including soccer and cycling.

    Dr. Omari is good when you ask the questions…. Concern is he should be more forthright in giving information automatically. Also makes you feel rushed…. Leaving you feel you have to apologize for surgical concerns past the surgery.

    I saw the doctor for approximately 30 seconds seen by his his assistant for about 10 minutes. Even though it wasn't my knee which I already knew. He didn't even look at my leg. Would not go back to this doctor

    Theirs always room for improvement. Well it is one thing I would like to see happen more, is my original doctor, Dr.Omari himself.
