I love working as a nurse practitioner in Women’s Health. I enjoy helping patients advocate for themselves, and I find it gratifying to help support patients in making the best decisions regarding their own health.
One thing I always aim to do is to make appointments as comfortable as possible. Many women are understandably nervous when being seen for services like a pelvic exam or Pap test. To help make the experience easier, I explain every procedure at the beginning of your appointment so you understand what is going to happen and why. And, you are always free to speak up if we need to pause, slow down, or even stop and try again on a different day.
I want women to feel like they are heard at their appointments and happy with the outcome.

I don’t feel rushed along and when she asks if I have any other concerns she means it. She would wait and listen and discuss. She doesn’t mean it to be a rhetorical question.
