Blake Fenkell, DO is a fellowship-trained sports medicine orthopedic surgeon. He grew up in metro-Detroit. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, followed by medical school and orthopedic residency at Michigan State University. He then completed his fellowship training at the University of Missouri. Dr. Fenkell aims to provide his patients with a personalized approach to their orthopedic problems by working to understand their treatment goals and to educate them on all treatment options with the least invasive means possible. Dr. Fenkell offers a variety of operative and non-operative treatment options. He specializes in minimally invasive procedures of the shoulder and knee and treats patients of all ages. His areas of focus are rotator cuff tears, shoulder replacement alternatives (i.e. superior capsular reconstruction, subacromial spacer), bicep tendon tears, labral tears, shoulder instability/dislocations, meniscus tears, clavicle fractures, AC joint separations, knee ligament reconstruction (ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL, multi-ligament), patellar tracking issues (i.e. dislocations, instability), cartilage restoration procedures, quadricep and patellar tendon tears, and arthritic knee debridement procedures. He also offers cell-based treatment options such as platelet-rich plasma injections for arthritis and tendinopathy.
