About Christopher B Currie

About the Provider

My path to medicine began during a family crisis, when my grandfather suffered a stroke. That experience opened my eyes to how little I knew about health care and sparked my desire to pursue medicine. Before becoming a physician, I worked as a paramedic for nine years, where I gained invaluable experience caring for people in urgent situations and developed a deep respect for the resilience of patients and families in their daily lives.

What I value most about family medicine is the opportunity to walk alongside patients over time and help them achieve their long-term health goals. I believe in clear, transparent communication, so that each patient understands how recommendations are shaped by their personal and family history. I am especially passionate about helping patients reduce their reliance on medications and achieve better health through sustainable changes in nutrition, activity, and lifestyle. Together with my patients, I create treatment plans that fit their stage of life and circumstances, while helping them navigate complex insurance systems and other barriers to care.

It is a privilege to see patients reclaim their health — whether it’s parents and grandparents regaining the energy to play with their children and grandchildren, or individuals of all ages gaining the confidence to pursue new adventures. As family medicine residency faculty, I am also committed to training the next generation of physicians in patient-centered, evidence-based care.
