Donald G Kim, MD

Donald G. Kim, MD, FACS, specializes in colorectal surgery. Dr. Kim is board certified in colorectal surgery as well as general surgery. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of California in Los Angeles, and his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois. Dr. Kim completed his residency in general surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois and his colon and rectal surgery fellowship at University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

He is a fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the American Medical Association.

Dr. Kim has special interests in minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic, da Vinci (robotic) surgery, and transendoscopic microsurgery for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease with an emphasis on sphincter preservation (avoidance of a colostomy or ileostomy) as well as pelvic floor disorders, such as fecal incontinence (sphincter repair and artificial bowel sphincter) and obstructed defecation (STARR procedure).
