About the Provider

Duane Berkompas MD, FACC, is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Berkompas earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing and completed his internship at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. He served two years as a general medical officer with the United States Navy and then completed his internal medicine residency at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. He completed his cardiovascular disease fellowship at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, and completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Dr. Berkompas' clinical interests include coronary artery disease, percutaneous procedures and structural heart disease, with a focus on nonsurgical procedures for severe aortic valve stenosis and mitral regurgitation.
