Elizabeth A Steensma, MD

Elizabeth Steensma, MD, is a board-certified acute care surgeon. Dr. Steensma earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing. After completing her residency in anatomic pathology at Brigham and Women's Hospital through Harvard Medical School in Boston, Dr. Steensma completed a general surgery residency at Michigan State University Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies in Kalamazoo, where she served as chief resident. She completed a fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Dr. Steensma's clinical interests include trauma, emergency surgery and surgical critical care, including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) therapy.
