About Elliot C Pennington
About the Provider
Dr. Pennington graduated cum laude from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Art in Race and Gender Studies and a minor in American Sign Language. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
Dr. Pennington completed his general surgery residency at Boston Medical Center and Boston University, where he was Administrative Chief Resident from 2015 - 2016. During his time in Boston, he completed a two-year research fellowship in fetal tissue engineering at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He went on to complete his pediatric surgery training at the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern University. Dr. Pennington is board certified in general surgery and pediatric surgery.
Dr. Pennington has received numerous clinical and research awards, and has presented his work nationally and internationally. He is involved on a national level with the American Pediatric Surgical Association, and has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include pediatric trauma, surgical ethics, endocrine and bariatric surgery, and quality improvement.
