About Eric R Nelson
About the Provider
As a psychiatric physician assistant, my goal is to help you take positive steps and gain momentum toward your overall mental and physical wellness. I am inspired by patients who appreciate small wins and recognize the lifelong journey of wellness.
I provide empathetic listening, evidence-based lifestyle recommendations, and when necessary gentle pharmacological assistance. Each patient is different, and I strive to always provide individualized care that acknowledges and respects each person’s needs, goals, and cultural perspectives and values.
I am especially passionate about preventive psychiatry, which focuses on identifying risk factors for mental disorders and helping people prevent serious symptoms before they start. My other clinical interests include treating substance use disorders and helping people limit their reliance on multiple different medications whenever possible.

Eric listens. He doesn't just talk meds. He actually wants to know my current state of mental health. He doesnt rush to medicate either. I appreciate that.

I really appreciate the care provided by Eric. He not only listens but also engages me in care decisions. I value that he provides me with options, and we talk about them and then come to a decision. It makes me feel empowered and engaged. In addition, Eric's focus on other lifestyle impacts to mental health, such as activity, diet, counseling, is appreciated.
