She spoke to me as a partner in my health journey rather than the overlord who was the sole person who knew what was best for me. She didn't have a lot of experience with the diagnosis I was seeing her for a flareup, and she was actually willing to admit that. Bard upon what I knew from living with it in addition to what she knew based on reading about it, we were able to come up with a treatment plan that satisfied BOTH of us. Her thoughts weren't pushed onto me nor did she just go along with what I thought would be best. It was how an appointment with a doctor should go!
