Jason P Thomas, MD

I chose a career in medicine because I wanted to make a meaningful, lasting impact on children and their families, helping them through some of their most vulnerable moments. I’m especially passionate about caring for kids with chronic kidney disease, high blood pressure, and those requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant. I am also involved in teaching and mentoring the next generation of pediatricians, as it helps extend my impact far beyond my own patients.

My approach to care is family-centered and collaborative. My goal is to make sure every family fully understands their child’s condition and feels confident about their care plan. We will talk through what I know, what I’m watching for, and what we can do together to achieve the best possible outcome. I tailor my recommendations to each child’s unique needs, making sure that their treatment plan is not just medically sound, but is practical and fits as well as possible into their daily life.

The most rewarding part of my work is seeing children grow, improve, and return to doing the things they love. Whether they’re coming off dialysis, gaining independence, or simply feeling better day to day, those moments are incredibly meaningful.
