When I was little, my family hosted children from South Korea who came to the United States for open heart surgery. I loved spending time with them in the hospital, and my fascination about everything that was going on inspired me to pursue a career in health care. I have worked in adolescent medicine for many years. I am particularly passionate about mental health, sexual health, and caring for immigrants and refugees.

My exam room is a safe space where you can be honest and feel heard. When my patients can walk out of the room feeling like someone listened to them, and they have a plan for improving their health, I feel like I made a real difference

To earn the "Safe and Affirming" designation, providers individually complete an online training program which includes modules developed by the National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center. For more information, click here.
