Dr. Swartz specializes in both primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, as well as joint preserving procedures such as hip and knee arthroscopy. Also a specialist in general orthopaedic surgery, he uses the newest techniques and leading edge technologies to treat patients. Dr. Swartz centers his practice on providing advanced conservative and surgical care for hip and knee disorders, particularly injuries to the cartilage and/or labrum. Additionally, he provides expert treatment for a variety of subspecialties, including:
-Minimally invasive posterior and anterior approaches to total hip arthroplasty
-Hip arthroscopy for management of impingement, labral tears, and other disorders of the hip
-Knee arthroscopy for treatment of meniscus and cartilage disorders
-Minimally invasive total and partial knee arthroplasty
-Complex hip and knee revision surgery
After earning his bachelor's degree in biology from Hope College in 2004, Dr. Swartz went on to receive his D.O. from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2009. He completed a five-year orthopaedic surgery residency at Michigan State University, St. John Oakland Hospital, followed by a one-year fellowship in adult reconstruction at Desert Orthopedic Center in Nevada, under the direction of Todd Swanson, M.D.
