She received her postgraduate residency training in General Surgery and Neurological Surgery at Catholic University Clinical Hospital, Santiago, Chile. She received a fellowship by the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst and she completed a Neurosurgery Fellowship at the Freie University of Berlin, Germany and at Henry Ford Hospital, Department of Neurosurgery in Detroit, MI. She is appointed Clinical Professor of Neurological Surgery at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Her specialties include brain tumors (glioblastoma multiforme, astrocytoma, low grade astrocytoma, acoustic neuromas, meningiomas, pituitary tumors, skull base tumors) stereotaxis, epilepsy surgery, radiosurgery, Gamma Knife, robotics, computer assisted surgery, vascular malformations, brachytherapy, endoscopy, minimally invasive spine surgery, pain, trigeminal neuralgia, movement disorders, and laser surgery.
