Michelle J Sims, NP

During the years I spent raising young children, I found myself deeply engaged in learning about health, prevention, and illness. I became fascinated with medicine and physiology, and that eventually led to a career as a nurse practitioner. It brought together my passions for science and for serving others in a way that felt natural and meaningful to me.

I practice with a strong commitment to autonomy while emphasizing evidence-based medicine. My goal is to empower people to make informed decisions that support their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. I am especially passionate about helping people make sustainable lifestyle changes to improve their health. Even small increases in daily activity, flexibility, and cardiovascular exercise can have a powerful impact on overall wellness. I treat every patient with respect, providing evidence-based guidelines while still honoring their right to choose what’s best for them.

Helping patients feel seen, supported, and capable is the most rewarding part of my work. I love seeing people discover their own resilience and capacity for change. Being part of their journey truly feels like a privilege.

To earn the "Safe and Affirming" designation, providers individually complete an online training program which includes modules developed by the National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center. For more information, click here.
