About the Provider

Nathan LaFayette, MD, is a board-certified surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive general and bariatric/metabolic surgery. He was raised in Northville, MI and attended Eastern Michigan University for his undergraduate degree and Ross University school of Medicine for his medical degree where he graduated with high honors. Dr. LaFayette did his general surgical training at Waterbury Hospital, Connecticut and completed his MIS/Bariatric Surgical Fellowship at The Ohio State University in Columbus. He has done years of research preceding medical school at the University of Michigan Department of Surgery. Dr. LaFayette has been the recipient of multiple awards and has published in high impact journals. His clinical interests include the wide range of minimally invasive and robotic general and bariatric surgery. His major clinical interests are in bariatric surgery (sleeve gastrectomy and Roux -en - Y gastric bypass), hernia repair and GI surgery. He has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals as well as chapters in a variety of surgical text books. He is a current member of the American College of Surgeons, SAGES, and ASMBS.
