I am a board-certified physician specializing in allergy and immunology. As an allergist, I help patients of all ages treat severe asthma, food allergies, environmental allergies, eczema, sinus disease, and other allergy-related issues. As a clinical immunologist, I focus on primary and secondary immunodeficiency. I’m also the head of the pediatric and adult immunodeficiency clinic in Grand Rapids, and actively involved in training the next generation of physicians on how immunologic diseases show up so that they can help recognize and identify earlier with their patients. I am especially passionate about identifying rare, overlooked, and underdiagnosed conditions and making sure these patients get the proper treatment they deserve.

My approach to care is comprehensive and evidence-based. I strive to give every patient the best possible advice and care plan, based on the most current medical evidence and guidelines. I also want you to feel educated and knowledgeable about your condition and your treatment options, so you can feel confident about your care plan and empowered to take better control of your health.

By the time patients come to see me, many have been dealing with chronic health issues for a long time. Often, they’ve been misdiagnosed or tried treatments that haven’t worked. It is enormously satisfying when I am able to provide them with an accurate diagnosis and a treatment plan that can finally relieve their suffering.
