This is the first person in the psych field that left me looking forward to the next appointment. I felt like I got the emergent answers about medication, which was a big part of why I had a consult with psych to begin with. He is efficient, which I appreciate to no end. Finding someone I click with immediately in an effectively blind consult (I wasn't familiar with any doctors on staff in that department, so I had no idea what to expect) is like being told unicorns exist - it's just something that hasn't been a real thing (the instant connection and my level of comfort with Dr. Abbey) in my past experiences. I have a feeling there might finally be some answers to questions I've had for decades.

I have gone through a lot of psychiatrists there due to high turnover. Dr. Abbey is by far the best. I feel like he really invests himself and genuinely cares about my well-being.

Dr Abbey was put on this earth to do exactly what he’s doing. Helping people in desperate need. He is so pleasant to talk to through the ups and downs. When I come in with anxiety he is patient with me and listening to me. He never cuts me off when Im speaking… even when I may ramble with intrusive thoughts about life’s challenges. If you can picture all the hopes in finding a new doctor he meets every expectation and honesty exceeds those expectations. Corewell Health is so fortunate to have him on their staff.
