I got into medicine, in part, because I had health problems as a child. The providers who helped me made my life so much better. I was inspired to follow their example.

When you live with a serious illness, making decisions can be extremely tough. A big part of my job is helping my patients understand their options, so that they can make those decisions a little more easily. But whatever you decide, I want you to know that I will always respect you and your choices. I’m here to support you no matter which path you pursue — whether that’s continuing with treatment, or transitioning to comfort care. And if you need it, I am a big hand-holder and hugger, too.

It's always deeply gratifying to be there for my patients in that moment when the noise fades away and we figure out what is most important for my patient and their family. I love when a plan we made together brings them comfort and peace.
