My goal is to provide a listening ear when patients need to be heard. Being an anesthesiologist who specializes in pain management, I hear from patients who are deeply focused on returning to their best selves, but are unsure what a pain clinic visit entails. In response, I talk about all the resources we have to offer: interventional techniques, behavioral health, functional medicine, rehabilitation specialists, and surgical options.

Our pain clinic is the place I would send my mom if she had a chronic or complicated pain issue. We provide a thorough, personalized review of each patient’s issue and listen to their concerns. Using multiple resources and interventions, we put together care plans that don’t just rely on dulling pain with medication but provide the best opportunity for alleviating pain and improving function.

It brings me joy when a patient has pain relief and increased ability to do the things they want to do. When a patient tells me, “After the last visit, I was able to...dance at my child’s wedding” or “...climb into the bleachers to watch my grandchild’s basketball game” or “...stand long enough in the kitchen to cook a meal for my family,” it makes my day. When they feel better, I feel better.
