I chose a career in medicine because I wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of others. I enjoy connecting with my patients to understand what is most important to them and help them navigate their health concerns.

People often ask me why I chose to practice in palliative care, which primarily involves providing care to people with serious and sometimes incurable illnesses. The answer is, I see palliative care as an area of medicine where I can make a difference — not by curing a disease, but by listening, advocating, and improving symptom control.

When I’m able to help lift a patient’s spirits or help them find happiness or comfort in their lives despite their health limitations, it’s these moments where I find the most joy and know I’m truly living my purpose.
