I’ve always been a caregiver at heart — first with my pets in childhood, and later as a paramedic. I decided I didn’t like leaving my patients at the emergency room and never knowing their outcome. Now, I get to take care of the same patients from birth all the way through adulthood.
In my practice, I work with all age groups, and there’s something special about each one! I especially enjoy caring for babies, which includes offering a lot of reassurance for the new moms and dads. In my work with patients, my approach is to listen first and then work together to create a treatment plan.
I love it when a 4- to 6-month-old infant smiles at me or a 4-year-old gives me a hug. I love it when I can make a middle school-aged kiddo smile or reassure a parent that when their teen is in their twenties, they’ll actually call with questions. These are the moments when I feel I’m truly caring for others and making a difference.
