I was drawn to the art of medicine — the healing power of a compassionate, human-to-human connection. I also grew up watching my mother work tirelessly for her patients as a family doctor. I saw how much her patients relied on her and how valuable good access to health care is in a person’s life and well-being. As a surgical oncologist, I strive to give to my patients that same feeling — having a doctor who truly cares about them and goes the extra mile.

I take extra time to make sure I have educated and informed patients of all aspects of their diagnosis and available treatment options before finalizing a plan. I will also consider a patient’s circumstances on a whole-person level, as well as their preferences. Together with my patients, we will formulate a plan of care that is tailored to their needs and wishes but also reflects evidence-based medicine and my expertise.

I stay up to date on the latest advancements and what research tells us about how cancer responds to different therapies, as well as how those therapies affect quality of life, especially where they intersect with women’s health, well-being, and spirituality. I am always looking for ways to lessen the burden of cancer therapy with a combination of treatments and programs to optimize recovery and healing. I will be your advocate so that you can get the care your need despite logistical, financial, and socioeconomic barriers. My favorite part of my job is when I see a new patient and their fear and anxiety replaced with understanding, relief, and hope by the end of the visit.
