I knew from a very early age that I wanted to help children and families. Kids deserve the chance to simply be kids, and I do everything in my power to support families so that medical conditions don’t define what their child is able to experience and achieve. As a pediatric neurologist, I treat a wide variety of brain conditions, but I am especially passionate about epilepsy care and rare conditions.

My approach to care is child-centered. I think it’s important to speak directly with each child I care for, engaging with them at their level and helping them feel as comfortable as possible — with me, with their visit, and with their diagnosis. Of course, it’s just as important to care for their parents and caregivers. My goal is to ensure that every family leaves with a clear understanding of their child’s diagnosis and treatment plan.

Over my years of working with families affected by rare disease, I have seen how strong and resilient these communities are. It is truly a privilege to walk alongside them and to partner with families, clinicians, and researchers as we work together to improve children’s lives.
