About the Provider
Shaina Aifuwa, MD, is a board-eligible adult outpatient psychiatrist. Dr. Aifuwa obtained her bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. She earned her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. She completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Central Florida/HCA GME Consortium in Gainesville, FL. She was the education chief resident during her final year. Dr. Aifuwa's clinical interests include the evaluation and treatment of several psychiatric disorders, such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma and stressor-related disorders, OCD, psychotic disorders, and perinatal mental health. She is deeply committed to assisting socially and economically disadvantaged populations.

Dr. Aifuwa has always listened intently, she invites my input by always asking if a plan sounds good to me or not, she’s always open with her ability to understand my situation.

I was bouncing around from different doctors and they were prescribing me so many different meds. I was getting so confused on my medication and what interacted with what and even met with a Meijer pharmacist to make sure everything interacted OK. Finally after years of searching for some help, someone recommended me to her. That has made all the difference in my life. She is so nice and so calm and so helpful if it wasn’t for her, I would still be swimming around in the Corwell health system looking for the answers I needed. Dr. Aifuwa, once you find her is a wonderful asset to Corwell health.
