About Shan E Abbas
About the Provider
Dr. Abbas is a board-certified clinical neurologist and fellowship trained epileptologist. He is the program director for the Corewell Health/MSU Epilepsy Fellowship program. He is also the associate program director of the Corewell Health/MSU Neurology Residency program. After earning his medical degree from Dow Medical College, University of Karachi in Pakistan, Dr. Abbas completed his neurology internship and residency at University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio, where he served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology (EEG/epilepsy) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, ranked among the top programs in the country.
Dr. Abbas’ clinical interests include exploring the bio-psycho-social implications of neurological disorders and epilepsy, as well as the surgical options for the treatment of epilepsy.

Dr. Abbas is a talented and compassionate practitioner. He listens very attentively and explains things precisely - leaving no room for misinterpretation. Dr. Abbas has been my neurologist for many years. And, he has consistently provided excellent care to me throughout those years. Each visit has been an informative and very positive experience. Dr. Abbas, "speaks 'with' you", and he listens - very carefully to what you're saying. He does not rush through your visit. He genuinely cares about his patients. Each visit has been consistently positive in the quality of care provided to me.
