Stuart Covi, MD is a board-certified Pediatric Cardiologist specializing in congenital heart disease, cardiac screening, and cardiac imaging at Corewell William Beaumont University Children's Hospital in Southeast Michigan.Dr. Covi has been selected by his peers as one of the Top Docs in his specialty by Hour Detroit Magazine consecutively from 2019 onward. He has also been awarded the Teacher of the Year Award for his enthusiasm for teaching doctors in training.His passions include improving detection of cardiac disease in pediatric patients to prevent sudden cardiac events. Another key interest for Dr. Covi is screening fetal patients to improve congenital heart disease detection and management. He is has numerous research interests and peer reviewed publications including lowering radiation exposure in the catheterization lab, cardiac impact of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, improving screening for congenital heart disease in newborns, and implementing digital stethoscope technology to aid in cardiac disease diagnosis.Dr. Covi believes in the power of a detailed history and exam to guide care, striving to include the entire family in each visit. He takes the time for his patients to be completely heard and thoroughly treated, as though they were his own family. Dr. Covi believes in giving back to the community in his career and personal life as an educator volunteer. He has three children who keep him and his wife busy with soccer, piano, and Cub Scouts, for which he is Pack Cubmaster.
