Thomas L Sutton, MD

Thomas Sutton, MD is a board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist at Utah Valley Pediatric Specialists in Provo, Utah. He earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia. He completed his pediatric residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Washington, followed by a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition at the National Capital Consortium/Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Sutton has over two decades of experience in pediatric gastroenterology and previously served as Chief of the Pediatric Gastroenterology Division at Walter Reed. His clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and management of complex gastrointestinal and nutritional disorders in children, including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, chronic abdominal pain, and feeding difficulties. He is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology.

A decorated military physician, Dr. Sutton served as a Battalion Flight Surgeon and Medical Officer in Iraq, where he led the Combined Aviation Aid Station. He is a member of the Society of U.S. Army Flight Surgeons and has received numerous research awards. His work has been widely published, and he is a frequent speaker at medical conferences.

Dr. Sutton is passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to children and their families.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Sutton enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
