About Troy A Thompson
About the Provider
When I was five years old, I wrote in my journal that I wanted to be a heart surgeon. I ended up choosing family medicine instead. But once I made up my mind to pursue a career in health care, I stuck to it. My parents were teachers and gave me the encouragement and tools I needed to succeed academically. And as an active kid who got injured a lot, I had a lot of experience watching ER physicians in action. They were so smart, hardworking, and compassionate. I knew that’s what I wanted to do.
I care deeply about helping my patients overcome whatever medical challenges they are facing. My job isn’t just to treat medical conditions; it’s to help my patients find their hope and joy again, after it seemed all hope was lost. I persevere with them, and I rejoice with them. I too know what it’s like to suffer. When our suffering produces strength and compassion, it feels like we have turned defeat into victory.
