I’ve always had a passion for helping others. In palliative care, I get to do this every day for patients with serious and sometimes incurable diseases, as well as their families and loved ones.

My approach to providing care is patient-centered, which means you are involved in setting the goals of your care and guiding changes that may need to happen throughout the course of your illness. I also want to help you manage your symptoms and find relief, and this is often in partnership with physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, and chaplains.

One thing that brings me joy in my work is helping patients and families understand their chronic conditions or illness or disease. Often, simply knowing more about what is happening in our bodies and what we can expect to happen is what we need to feel more comfortable and courageous. I also enjoy clarifying the goals of care and helping patients achieve their desired quality of life.

To earn the "Safe and Affirming" designation, providers individually complete an online training program which includes modules developed by the National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center. For more information, click here.
