Medicine chose me as much as I chose it. Before I became a doctor, I was an engineer developing new medical devices. I had the opportunity to pursue a PhD and go deeper into research and engineering — but I was craving the opportunity to be genuinely present for others during difficult moments. I changed course, went to medical school, and now I can’t imagine doing anything else. As a clinical geneticist, I’m especially passionate about rare genetic diseases in underserved communities, identifying inherited conditions that may have gone unrecognized for generations, and how genetics intersects with heart disease.

I focus on my patients as whole people. I take time to understand the full family picture, because patterns across generations are often where the real answers live. I’ll explain things as many times as it takes and I’ll never make you feel like your question was too simple to ask. I want every patient to leave understanding what we found, what it means, and what comes next.

The moment a family finally has a name for something they’ve been living with is unlike anything else in medicine. It means they’re no longer searching in the dark. Watching that shift happen, and knowing I can help them take the next steps, is the part of this work I’ll never take for granted.
