About the Provider

Zachary Seymour, MD, is the leader for benign and malignant central nervous system (CNS) conditions, lymphoma, lung cancer, and prostate cancer as well as other urologic malignancies at Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital. He is an expert is in the field of image guided radiation therapy with precise delivery to maximizes normal tissue sparing, minimize risk for tumor recurrence, and reduce the total duration of therapy. He was the first physician in the state trained in the entire spectrum of radiotherapeutic options for prostate cancer and CNS conditions including low dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy, high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, proton radiotherapy, stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), including Gamma Knife Icon Radiosurgery and Exactrac Linac-based Radiosurgery. He developed and directs the Exactrac-based stereotactic programs for prostate and brain stereotactic radiotherapy at Dearborn. Dr. Seymour's research focuses on post-treatment imaging interpretation, quality improvement, dosimetric analysis and clinical trial design. He has extensively published articles on cutting edge radiation techniques with dozens of publications and abstracts on the topics of stereotactic radiotherapy techniques, brachytherapy and dose volume analysis for prostate cancer and central nervous system tumors and conditions, such as Arteriovenous Malformations. He is also an active member of the National Research Group (NRG) Oncology for the advancement of cancer care for prostate cancer and brain tumors. Dr Seymour graduated from Earlham College with honors and received his medical degree from the University of Indiana School of Medicine. He completed his internship in Neurosurgery followed by his residency in Radiation Oncology both at the University of California - San Francisco. Currently he is an assistant professor at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.
